DECLARATION OF FAITH AND DOCTRINE Minimize

The Inspiration of Scripture
•        We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, (II Tim. 3:16; II Peter 19-21), is without error
in the original writings, (Psalm 119:160; John 17:17), and is to be upheld as the supreme and final authority in faith and life.

The Nature of God
•       We believe in the one, (Is 43:10, 44:6; Deut 6:4; I Cor 8:6a), living and eternal (Ps 90:2) God who is the creator of all.  He is holy,
     (Heb 1:13; Is 6:3, Rev 4:8; Lev 19:2), perfect, (Matt 5:48), and loving (I John 4:8).
•       We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons; Father, (Matt 28:19; Ex 3:14), Son (John 5:18, 8:58, 10:30,33),
and Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3,4; II Cor 3:17,18; Gen 1:1,2, 1:26).
•       We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, (born of the Virgin Mary as the only Son of God, and lived as fully Man
     and fully God.
•       We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine being possessing all the attributes of personality and of a deity
     (Eph 4:30; Acts 5:3, 8:29, 13:2, 16:6; II Peter 1:21; John 16:13; I Cor 12:11; Rom 8:26; Heb 10:29).  It is the Holy Spirit by whom believers
      are called,(Acts 13:2; Rom 1:1, 8:28; I Tim 6:12; II Peter 1:3,10; Rev 22:17),  regenerated,(Titus 3:5),  baptized into Christ (I Cor 12:13),
indwelt, (John 7:39; I Cor 3:16), and sealed, (Eph 1:13), and with whom they are filled for service (Eph 5:18).

Original Sin
•       We believe in the reality and personality of Satan (Rev 19:9), that he is the instigator of sin and death (Gen 3:1-5), the arch enemy of God
(Is 14:13; Matt 13:24, 25, 37-39; I John 3:8),  and man (II Cor 4:4; I Peter 5:8; Rev 12:10), and that he was defeated at the Cross
(John 12:31,32; 16:11; Col 2:15), and will be cast into the lake of fire (Rev 20:10).
•       We believe that man was created in the image of God (Gen 1:26); that he sinned (Gen 3:1-7), and by that incurred, not only physical
death (Rom 5:12; I Cor 15:22), but also spiritual death, which is separation from God (Rom 5:18,19; Matt 7:22, 23);  that all human beings
are born with a nature prone to sin(Rom 3:10, 3:23; Ps 51:5),  and that this sinful nature is the origin of all sinful acts in thought, word, and
     deed (Jer 17:9; Mark 7:21-23).

Our Redemption
•       We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the Cross for our sins (Gal 1:4; I John 2:2; I Cor 15:3; John 19:30; Heb 10:12; I Tim 2:6),
was bodily resurrected from the grave (Luke 24:39; John 20:27; I Cor 15:4; 15:20), ascended into Heaven (Acts 1:9-11), and is presently
our High Priest (Heb 2:17, 7:24-27), and Advocate (I John 2:1).
•       We believe that those who receive the Lord Jesus Christ are born again (John 1:12, 3:3; II Cor 5:17; I Peter 1:234), and by that justified
by the shed blood of Christ (Rom 5:9; Heb 9:22; Acts 13:39; Is 53:11).
•       We believe that all those who receive the Lord Jesus Christ become children of God (John 1:12; Gal 3:26; Rom 8:16).

Our Communication with God
•       We believe that the Bible is God’s written communication to all mankind (II Tim 3:16,17).
•       We believe that prayer is our communication with God by which we recognize He is supreme (Matt 6:9; I John 5:14,15),  and we are
dependent on Him (Rom 8:26; I Thess 5:17; Heb 4:16).

The Church
•       We believe that the Church is composed of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior; that it is the body
(Eph 1:22,23; Col 1:18,24; I Cor 12:12,13), and bride of Christ     (Eph 5:23-32; Rev 19:7).

Worship
•       We believe that all persons are created with a need to acknowledge the sovereign majesty of God (Eccl 12:13; Rev 22:9).  We believe
that the Christian should attend church frequently, gathering with other believers to benefit from the fellowship the teachings, and for the
building up of the faith (Acts 2:42; Eph 4:22, 12; Heb 10:25).

Evangelism
•        We believe that all Christians have been commissioned by God to actively proclaim the good news of Christ’s love and sacrifice
     (Matt 28:16-20; Phil 2:15; I Peter 2:9, 3:15; Jude 3).

Ordinances
•       We believe the ordinances of the Church to be: a. Baptism, which is the immersion of a believer in /Christ in water, setting forth in symbol,
the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38,41, 8:36-38, 19:1-5).  b. The Lord’s Supper, which is the commemoration of
Christ’s death until He comes again (I Cor 11:24-26).

Christian Living
•       We believe that all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ are called into a life of separation from worldly and sinful practices and should abstain
from such amusements and habits as will cause others to stumble or bring reproach upon the Cross of Christ
     (Rom 12:1,2; Eph 5:11; I John 2:15-17; I Cor 8:9; II Cor 6:14).

Our Future
•       We believe that those who receive Christ as Savior and Lord will rejoice eternally in God’s presence in Heaven
(Rom 6:23; John 14:2; II Cor 5:8; Phil 1:23), and that those who reject Christ will be in hell eternally separated from God
     (Matt 25:41,46; Rev 14:10,11; 20:11-15; Dan 12:2).
•       We believe in the promise of Jesus Christ’s bodily return to earth (Acts 1:11; Rev 19:11-21; Matt 24:30, 37-39; Zech 14:1-4).
